Don Imus was nothing more than the latest casualty of political correctness gone mad. Think about the phrase he used, what word in that phrase is racist? I understand the so-called "n-word", but what is happening now? Now it seems that any word that anyone deems as racist is the new political correct law of the land. I heard a phrase once that said "freedom of speech", but I guess that only applies to parts of our community. For instance, look at gangster rap. Gangster raps says the most demeaning things about women, glorifies violence and drug use, and insights violence against our police officers. Why is Al Sharpton not calling for the termination of Ludacris and Fifty-Cent? Has anyone ever heard the term "double standard"?
Things are going way too far when it comes to free speech or the lack thereof. Under the Constitution, I can say almost anything I want short of yelling fire in a crowded theatre. So why do we instill this power on people such as Al Sharpton to limit what we say or words we choose to use? Who bestilled that authority on them? There is a simple solution when it comes to hearing things you don't like.....don't listen!!
