Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters - Remix is one of the longest game titles I have ever seen. It is also a Mugen fan game created by PioupiouD. Tournament Fighters - Remix features nine characters, nine backgrounds and all four of those hardcore, half-shelled maniacs we have all grow
n to love.
Tournament Fighters - Remix is based off the SEGA Genesis version. That means instead of having a chance to fight with Shredder, you "get to" select April O'Neil if you want. I'm not sure if she was meant to be a joke character or not. It just doesn't seem like anyone WANTED to play as the annoying reporter.
This being a "remix" means that some things are different from the original. As I have never played a Ninja Turtle game after "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game", I cannot be sure exactly how much is different. I could probably download the Rom to do some research. Not that I want to or anything...

...Upon further inspection, there are indeed some notable changes. Controls have been changed from three buttons to six. The lifebars used in Remix are from Killer Instinct 2. Hitsparks and special effects during hyper moves are original. So it appears this game is worthy of being called a remix after all.
The presentation is what you would expect from a decent fan game. You liked the cut scenes and music from Tournament Fighters? You got 'em here. You enjoyed the stages in which characters fought? They are in this game. Loved fighting Ninja Turtle clones(pallet swaps)? You're probably the only one, but they are also present.
Game play is fast paced and very enjoyable for the most part. It's good enough to make me want to try the Genesis or SNES versions just to compare. It was made with the Dos version of Mugen, so XP or Vista users beware. I would suggest using DOSBox to boot the game if you have either of those operating systems.
