No, I'm not talking about those Santa stand-ins that you see in the center of malls that you go to. I'm talking about thinking like good old Saint Nick when it comes to selling anything that has good value. Santa himself has a load of goodies loaded up on his sleigh, ready to deliver down the chimneys to houses during the night when the kids are asleep. When it's safe to come down, he drops down the chimneys with his sack of smiles, places the toys on the floor and furniture, deposits the goodies to the family's stockings, and his work is done. He goes back to his sleigh, drives his reindeer to the other houses, and he repeats his steps, giving the family and the kids what they want while they're asleep. Since he knew in advance what the kids want, he gives them exactly what they want, knowing that the kids are in for a surprise when they wake up on Christmas morning. It's the same thing with their families. Although adults themselves are too heavy to sit on Santa's lap, he knows what they want as well.

When it comes to "playing Santa" in the marketplace, there are two lessons you need to know if you want to have wallet that's as fat as Santa's belly that's plump as a bowlful of jelly:

1. Give the customers or clients what they want!

2. Make sure it's very valuable and helpful for the customers or clients!

Let me repeat that again for clarity, but in full detail:

1. Give the customers or clients what they want!

For example, people are getting sick and tired of not having enough money. People want to have money to do more than just to get by, more than just to pay the bills, to put bread on the table, to keep a roof over their heads from the harsh hand of Mother Nature, etc. This is why they turn to products (offline and online, text/prints, audios and videos) on the now-popular topics of:

-self-help
-personal development
-motivation
-inspiration
-making money (and lots of it)
-marketing
-business
-prosperity
-financial literacy
-Financial freedom
-success
-wealth
-home businesses
-money (the main topic)
-...and a whole lot of other topics related to these.

All kinds of people want to buy things that make their lives better.

Takeaways
  • Give the customers or clients what they want!
  • Make sure it's very valuable and helpful for the customers or clients!
