You've spent hours getting ready your hair and make up are perfect and you look down to find a hole or snag in your pantyhose. What do you do? This is a problem woman have often. Don't stress out or panic there are some simple quick fixes to get you back to looking great.

Nail Polish

Nail polish is one of the most common ways to fix those snags and holes. Any color nail polish will do if the snag or hole is on the bottom of the foot otherwise try using a clear polish or a color that match your hose. Be sure to place polish all around the hole to prevent runs. If you are dealing with a snag be sure to apply the polish to the beginning, end and around the edges of the run. This will keep it from growing larger. To avoid getting nail polish on your skin either remove the hose or if possible place a paper towel between your skin and the hole. Also keep a wet wash cloth or polish remover near by for spills. Remember to allow time for the polish to dry. Nail polish will not wash off so it is a great quick fix.

Hairspray

Another quick fix for hose problems is hairspray. This is best used with the hose off or with something between your skin and area spraying otherwise the hairspray will leave a sticky film on your legs. Be sure to spray the whole area and the area around to prevent it from growing larger. The hairspray will stiffen the fibers of the hose temporarily. Hairspray dries quickly so this is great to use in a hurry. Hairspray will wash off so be sure to keep water away from your hose.

White Out

If wearing white pantyhose or the run or tear is in not in a noticeable place white out will also work. Apply white out the same way as nail polish. This will wash out like the hairspray so be sure not to wash the hose and stay away from water. Remember to allow time for the white out to dry.

The cheapest way to repair pantyhose is not to repair it. It takes many runs before you cannot wear them anymore. For me, nail polish is far uglier than the run itself.

I've also heard that nail varnish is great to have on hand whenever you end up with a ladder in your tights ("run in your hose") Sophie

I have heard of nail polish and I think I've heard of hair spray, but not the whiteout. I love dance tights since they are more durable than thin nylons. Still have to be careful with them, though.

Its amazing to me how much money hosiery mfgr's make off a product that seems to fail a lot. Even the ones that claim they never run do.

Great info...I usually use clear nail polish.
