Are you looking for a way to motivate yourself to exercise more in 2008? If so, you might be interested in a study done a few years ago by the University of Florida. Researchers there found out that people who chose workouts based on their temperament were more likely to enjoy it. ( See research

Of course, if you enjoy something, you'll keep at it. So how does this apply to you? Below are a few workouts that go with the most common personalities. Find yourself and find a great workout plan for 2008.

Chatty Cathies. You're an extrovert by nature. As a result, you'll be happiest when exercising in a group. So pick an interactive workout like aerobics with loud music or a long walk with five of your closest friends. Both allow you to burn calories and talk at the same time. You'll love it.

Type A's. Type A's are known to be hyper-alert, particular and high strung. As a result, you need an activity that will bring you down to earth. It has to take the edge off. So, a long run on a treadmill or around the park will be great for you. Just be sure to do it solo. It'll help you resist the temptation to take control of another person who might not exercise at the same level or precision as you.

Ace-Ventura's. If you like to explore new things and enjoy a lot of change, then you'll want an exercise that helps you do both. Martial arts or a dance class are a great idea for you. Both activities involve a lot of change and help you explore your body through movement. They also can open you up to different cultures.

Goal-Oriented Guys and Gals. Do you have a five year plan? If so, you need an exercise program that involves an immediate or ultimate achievement. For you, a kick-boxing or spinning class would be excellent. Both have short and long term goals you can achieve. It'll keep you interested and you can even add it to your BlackBerry.
