Never Eat at This Restaurant

Sometimes you visit and new restaurant and you are thrilled with the outcome and sometimes, that thrill just does not happen. It is these less than thrilling times that keep me looking f

or the perfect Chinese restaurant and the World Buffet on Lake Mead in Las Vegas, NV is not that restaurant. All must stay away for fear of risking your life.

The seating area of the World Buffet is all about the booth. Low lying booths fill the restaurant to the point of almost feeling overcrowded. These booths offer no privacy for a meal. The person behind you can see right over into your table and hear every word of your conversation.

Aside from feeling watched, the service left much to be desired. There is not much that has to be served at a buffet, but our drinks were never refilled. The initial service was the only time we ever saw a waitress.

The food, this is where things get a little scary. The buffet was set up in normal fashion. With a salad section, American food section, two large tables of Chinese food and a section for sushi. The salad bar was the only section of the buffet that was the right temperature. Every food item we tried was either overcooked and cold or undercooked and luke warm. Not one food item was hot. The sushi bar was luke warm as well. Eating raw fish is one thing, but sushi is a delicate matter than can be harmful to the human body if it is not chilled properly. I was not willing to risk food poisoning for a little warm sushi.

The prices at the World Buffet, while irrelevant, are truly affordable. Children are charged by age and adults can eat all they dare for under $10.00 a person. But, I must warn all who read this. The World Buffet is an unhealthy spot that is not worth the chance of getting food poisoning.

I will never again step foot in the parking lot of the World Buffet. The day I tried to eat lunch there, I requested a refund and walked out of the restaurant with my family in tow. I will not risk my health nor my families health by eating food that is not the correct temperature. I have reported this restaurant to the BBB and Health Department of Las Vegas. The World Buffet on Lake Mead Blvd in Las Vegas, NV should be shut down!

You definately have to be careful when eating foods that are too warm or too cold...I'd say you did the right thing and hopefully they won't be around to be a threat much longer. Tina
