Leonardo's Personal Life
Leonardo da Vinci was born illegitimately to Ser Piero and Caterina on April 15, 1452 in Vinci, Italy. His father, Ser Piero, was a Florentine notary and his mother, Caterina, was a local peasant woman. He moved in with his father and his mother left and married another man. With his parents both married to different people, Leonardo had 17 half brothers and sisters. How he was educated is really uncertain. Some sources say that he was educated in the finest schools in Florentine, while other say he was schooled at home, regardless of where he was educated Leonardo received an outstanding education.

Leonardo was said to be a very handsome, persuasive man and this may have something to do with the allegations that he faced. In 1476, he performed sodomy on a 17 year-old model of his.
