Optimism

you let fear ruin everything,
because I feel you are the only one
for me.
But I can never be happy
with only half your heart
and no compromising.
I cannot take the blame
for the failures
caused by your fear.
You need to take some time
to love yourself,
as well as personal responsibility
for your actions
because no one else is to blame
but you.
All you have to lose
is unhappiness and fear and bitterness.
Come on over and join us optimists,
the water is fine.
Don't let anyone hold you back,
especially yourself.
Can't you see
that in order to succeed
you must sometimes fail?
You cannot let a few hard times
beat you,
and you cannot take out your
past and prejudice on me
any longer
because I will not let you
hold me back
from being happy,
loved and appreciated.
