My two females love to fight. In fact, they have elevated fighting to an art form. Put them together in one room or in the car, and just watch the fur fly! They pace back and forth, as their hair stands on end. They growl and scratch. They snarl. They roll and wrestle and grapple with each other, tooth and claw.
They guard their own space and protect their own toys. They try to snatch each other's food, right out of their dishes. They battle for the front seat of the car.
Often, we simply have to separate these two. We put them in their own rooms and shut the door until they calm down. When they are ready to play nicely in the sandbox (or litter box), then they may come out.
These two compete for my attention. Each will wail when the other one gets the best spot on the couch. And just look out, if one of them should manage to eat the last treat!
Eventually, these two will return to their own beds to rest up for the next onslaught.
Did I mention that the cat fights in my home do not involve felines at all? That's right! I am talking about my daughters, who are human (most of the time).
Mee-oww!
