I still remember those school days when my mother used to force a spoon of cod liver oil and me spitting it out without her knowledge. I am glad that today we don't have to undergo that sort of ordeal to take it.

It is in deed very thoughtful of the Carlson Laboratories to come with the Norwegian Cod Liver Oil Lemon. Though most of us are aware of the medicinal benefits of the cod liver oil, people across the globe are mindful of the repulsive fishy smell. This is observed not only among the children but also the grown up adults can't take it.

The Carlson Cod Liver Oil is extracted from the wild and healthy cod fish caught from the North Atlantic Sea in and around Norway. Unlike other inferior cod oil manufacturers, the Carlson does not take the oil from cultured cod. Only the cod captured from the sea is rich in medicinal oil.

This cod liver oil is rich in vitamin D, E and Omega-3-fatty acids. Besides that the Carlson Cod Liver Oil has an exceptionally good amount of DHA (500mg), EPA (460 mg) and ALA (46 mg). This oil does not contain any trace of contaminants like mercury and cadmium. I trust the Carlson blindly and believe that this oil is totally devoid of any sort of heavy metal poisoning.

The Carlson has masked the fishy smell by lemon flavor. So the typical disgusting fish smell is covered up by the lime smell making it palatable. Though I take fish regularly, when it comes to cod liver oil, I step back. The irony is that I love cod sandwiches but cannot accept the cod oil.

This is again a universal phenomenon. I find some people telling that the Carlson Cod Liver Oil is to be tasty and delicious. To be honest, I beg to differ. It is definitely palatable, but in no way this is delicious. I still gulp it down and it is true that the Carlson does not leave any weird aftertaste. The lemon flavor is not too strong either. However if you do not like the citrus flavor, stay away from this.

Everybody in our home take a spoon of this before going to bed. This has improved my skin quality and gives it a natural glow. I see that my hair has become thicker and darker. This is very good especially during winter season to control the joint pain and knee cap problem.
