This attachment basically transforms any of the mixers from the Kitchenaid in to an ice cream maker instantly. I am not sure whether this can be used with other mixers or bowls. It can hold up to 2 quarts of ice cream. This set consists of a drive assembly, an adapter ring to fix the mixer and a rotating dasher that facilitates in spreading, scraping and mixing the ingredients. This can be used for making yogurt, ice cold desserts and sorbets. This is a user friendly apparatus that can be installed easily. Cleaning is not at all an issue.
I find that most of the people are not happy with this equipment and complain a lot about this. This is mainly because they expect the home made ice cream to be exactly like the ones that they get from a parlor. Remember that this is a very simple ice cream maker that aids in making healthy and hygienic ice cream at home. The ones that you eat outside are loaded with fats to make it creamy and are basically aerated with carbon dioxide to make it extra fluffy ice creams that are unhealthy. With this ice cream maker I can keep a check on the calorie count.
To make a good ice cream, follow the instructions and the recipe booklet that comes along with it. Make sure that you freeze the bowl for 15 hours before introducing the ice cream preparation. Though it takes only 30 minutes for the ice cream to set it takes a lot of time to freeze the bowl. So this is not suitable to make ice creams when guest visit you without any prior intimation. The ice cream that comes out of the bowl is soft and this has to be frozen again for another 45 minutes.
