Easy Christmas Treats

Christmas and the holidays are for indulging in a few sweet treats. Below are three of our favorites. Try them they are easy to make!

For a super easy Christmas candy treat to have on hand during the holidays, try some Crunchy Peanut Butter Balls.

You need the following 5 ingredients:

1-cup peanut butter
1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème
1-1/2 cups crisp rice cereal
1-1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
4 teaspoons shortening

In a big bowl, combine the peanut butter and marshmallow crème; add cereal and stir until it's well coated.

In microwave or over low heat on the stove, combine chocolate chips and shortening. Heat until chips are melted then stir them smooth.

Roll cereal mixture into 1-in. balls; dip them in the chocolate and put them on a waxed paper-lined pan. Refrigerate them until they are "set". (This makes approx. 2-1/2 doz.)

Another Easy and versatile candy treat for Christmas is simply called "Christmas Candies". And they take approximately 20 min to make plus chilling time.

Ingredients:
3 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons butter
Finely chopped pistachios

In a small heavy saucepan, bring the cocoa, milk and butter to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low; cook and stir until thickened. Transfer to a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate until chilled. Roll into 1-inch balls; roll in pistachios. Store in the refrigerator. Makes about 2-½ doz.

You could use anything to roll them in if you don't like pistachios. Things like nuts, sprinkles, coconut.

This recipe is so festive for the Christmas Holidays, once you have made it, your family will want to "see" it and eat it every year.

Again, this Christmas dessert can be made the day before. It garners the "center" of the "goody" table at our house.

Cherry Dream Cake

You will need the following ingredients:

1 package (18-1/4 ounces) white cake mix
1 package (3 oz.) cherry gelatin
1-1/2 cups boiling water
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
2 cups whipped topping
1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
