Every city has their best dining experiences; most cities have at least one restaurant that is "one of a kind." Some cities are blessed. Blessed with a large number of top quality restaurants - one for every taste in the group. We're not talking the chain restaurants, either - where you can look online and find a dozen or more within 100 miles of each other...

Greenville, South Carolina is one of those cities that has so many restaurants, it is hard to nail down just which one is your favorite. Here are seven truly wonderful places that are each "one of a kind" no duplicates...

1) Trio A Brick Oven Cafe, better known as "Trio's." Located in the heart of downtown, the limited outside seating adds to the atmosphere of Greenville. Reasonably priced, menue items include to-die for calzones, wood fired pizzas, exciting salads, and tasty pasta dishes. http://www.triocafe.com/index.htm

2) Saskatoon - truly a hunting man's dream, they serve steaks, fish, and wild game. The menue changes periodically, sometimes including alligator, buffalo, or ostrich. The decor is laid-back, northwoods style. $15-30 http://www.saskatoonrestaurant.com/

3) Soby's - This is another very popular restaurant located downtown Greenville. They boast of creative menue items inspired by southern traditions. Soby's atmosphere fairly bursts with energy. This place is swinging, and the food is worth the stop. $15-30 http://www.sobys.com/

4) Haus Eidleweiss. A little German stop with authentic hearty cuisine. I never leave Haus Eidleweiss disappointed. Sausages, house potato salad, spaetzl, wiener schnitzel... It is all good, and all worth the time. They also boast a little shop with imported candies, breads, and other items. If you like German food, this is a must-stop. $10-20 (no website)

5) Restaurant O - In a word, upscale. Southern hospitality with a cosmopolitan upbeat. The menue changes frequently, lest the chef's get bored. Open only for dinner, they offer valet parking and private dining experiences. $$$$ http://www.restauranto.com/
