Picking games for a Playstation 2 addict can be hard sometimes. I know it is for me when I am buying for my family members, but with this list I will tell you about some of the games I enjoy playing and ones that have been a hit with other family members.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 -

Tony Hawk, with doubt, brought skateboarding to the masses and Hawk has had tremendous success with his video game series. I first started playing this with my Nintendo 64 game system and I have been following it since on my Playstation system.

The previous PlayStation installments of the game were masterpieces in their own right and raised the bar for this 2001 release. The graphics on this game are amazing and with eight levels of bustling traffic and annoyed people you are sure to find hours of enjoyment with this game. This game even has more diverse customized characters and was the first PS2 game to be brought online.

Amplitude -

One thing that always bothered me about this game was that people would call it a Guitar Hero knock-off. If anything this game helped opened the door for Guitar Hero. Sometimes game developers create a game that is just a knock off of a previous title, but with this game it is unique to itself. This game is even easy for those who are rhythm and beat challenged.

With Amplitude the user has the ability to mix and remix songs from a large number of genres, such as techno and alternative, pushing the game play established by its predecessor, FreQuency. Amplitude also took part in the online PS2 world by letting its players create remixes online for other players to explore, as well as creating a exceptionally good chat and ranking system. Hitting notes on a descending track with a DualShock was never fun, until Amplitude came along.

Resident Evil 4 -

The Resident Evil series has always been a favorite of mine with the PlayStation. The graphics on this game were amazing with number 1 and just got better and better with each game. The game itself is fast paced and if you aren't careful may scare you with a monster coming out of nowhere.
