Restaurant Review: IHOP in Lake Charles, LA

IHOP is located at 2601 Admiral King St. in Lake Charles, LA.

Setting:

There are booths and tables that seem to be placed somewhat sporadically in IHOP. However, they still manage to look neat. The main colors of the restaurant seem to be light browns and yellows. This is not hard on the eyes, but it is not easy on them, either. In fact, because of some of the patterns used, it can be a little irritating.

There are designs that run across the top of the walls that have things like frying pans, spatulas, and breakfast words. These are light brown drawings on a yellow background.

It can be a little bit of a hassle waiting to be seated as the wait may be slow. When there are not many people, the seating will be quicker.

Service:

Once seated, a waiter or waitress will bring menus. This seems to take a much longer time than it should. Of course, drink orders are taken. It is not surprising that the waiter or waitress will not remember the drink orders correctly. A group may have to switch drinks and sometimes may even have to ask for the correct drinks. At times, some people never even get served drinks the whole time while waiting while other people are served food and get to eat.

The food order should be taken not too long after the drinks are ordered. However, this can also be a very long time. Once the food is ordered, it is hopefully cooked correctly and hopefully each person will be served the correct food. However, it may happen that each person has something incorrectly. In fact, sides are often not served correctly. Waiters and waitresses may not even know what items are called. They do not even know the style of things. After ordering scrambled eggs and Swedish pancakes, waitresses have asked if the style of egg wanted is "Swedish eggs."

Of course, since it is IHOP, there are tons of traditional breakfast fare. There are also things like burgers, chicken, and steak that come with sides.

There are also a few desserts, but not that many.
