I am a Greenhouse

I am a greenhouse

I look so strong from the outside,

But I am made from brittle glass

And splintering wood

Inside of me is beautiful

I hold such beauty

Such life in me, can't you see

But if you hurt me, please don't

I break and shatter

And you leave a gaping hole

But to fill this hole, it is not hard

Make me laugh, make me smile

The hole will mend

It does not take a lot

To make me shine again

When you look at me

I am already on the mend

In the beginning I was small

More brittle than even now

But as I aged, I grew stronger

It is harder to break me now

My glass has more panes

My frame of wood more sturdy

But I am not unbreakable

So don't even try and hurt me

I am a greenhouse

My glass twinkles for thee

My once splintering wood

Is now as smooth as can be

I am a greenhouse

I am the real me

the beauty of a greenhouse is all the wonderful living things inside if nurtured.
