Complete Profundity
with the realization that our last time was the last time,
would you die with me
going out in a blaze of unbridled frenzy as we touched the sky
for an eternity forever changed,
nothing remains the same
we carry on as before
wipe our faces and bolt the doors
of uncertain winds
is this the key to living right
or rather just deluding,
tell me if you dare
I won't ask the obvious
for the answer's just too painful
and more than I can bare ...
I watch the mothers smile
that knowing look when all is well
I'll never know such wonder
my time has passed
missed my cue
or am I really clueless
to know the meaning of
true happiness ...
such thoughts too lofty for this soul
I pine and drift, endlessly
my needs have all been met
my wants yet satisfied
maybe never in this life
maybe ever
I have lived and died a thousand deaths
arose a million times
with each dawning day and daunting task
herculean in it's scope,
though I am tired now of slaying quid pro quo
dragons have lost their allure
give me peace and harmony
a good man who understands,
one who treasures priceless things
like love and honesty
who can give and so receive
all I have,
all I am
for this is total bliss ...
