So, while perusing some work out videos at the local used video store I came across a new Tae Bo system by Billy Blanks. Its been a long time since I've heard anything about Tae Bo except for seeing a few early morning infomercials. I decided to try one of his Fat Blasting workouts, because I used to love my Tae Bo videos. I had the best time with the workout and this is why I have decided that Tae Bo should make a huge come back.

1. I don't need to be an acrobat in order to do it.
I don't know about other people, but personally I am not a great dancer. I've got rhythm, but I just wasn't blessed with coordination. Tell me to do one thing with my hands and another with my feet and you may find yourself calling a paramedic. But that's the great thing about Tae Bo. Its just a lot of punching and kicking, and that I can do. You may punch and then kick, but hey after a few tries, even I can catch on to that. And I don't need the balance that I don't have for Yoga.

2. I'm not distracted by Billy Blanks.
I used to be distracted by the Billy Blanks of the '90s, because of the awful tight outfits he wore. Don't get me wrong, he still has them. But fortunately they are a little better than the ones he had a few years ago. Somehow they don't seem to hug him quite so tightly. And although Billy Blanks isn't necessarily a bad looking guy, he also isn't say Bob from the Biggest Loser. Now I'm distracted by those good looks no matter what he's wearing.

3. It fools me into thinking I can fight.
I love getting out my aggression and Tae Bo is the best way to do that. Then I get fooled into thinking I could actually do my moves on someone. Its pretty cool. My roommate and I like to imagine we're punching a particular person we don't like so much. If you pop in a Tae Bo video, pretty soon I'm doing roundhouse kicks that aren't even in the routine.

4. I hurt when I finish.
Nothing makes me feel like I've gotten a good workout more than pain at the end of the workout or the next day. It's a great feeling and Tae Bo always delivers those results. Making it up the stairs at work the next day is another workout all by itself.

Great article and I agree totally. I was also distracted by the Billy Blank's bulge of the 90's.. and the sweat stains in strategic places turned me off a little. Give me Bob Harper and his oh-so-hot tattoos any day.
