Fruit snacks are a quick and easy snack to reach for when you are packing your child's lunch for school or you will be going on a picnic, an all day outing or other event.

Peaches in Strawberry-Banana Gel by Del Monte come in a 510g (18oz) 4-pack. I paid $1.92 for this product. What attracted me to this product is the fact that it said "Lite fruit & Gel" with 1/3 less sugar than regular Del Monte Fruit & Gel. Some other brands that I compared this to contained well over 20g of sugar in every serving.

As soon as I peeled back the lid, I noticed that the cup was completely full of fruit and gel, rather than half-filled with very little fruit.

Nutrition

Some similar products provide very little in the way of proper nutrition. But this product was different. There are 60 calories in every 128g pack, no fat or cholesterol and there is just 40mg of sodium, which is just a small trace. The sugar content is 12g and there is no fibre, but this product does provide 30% of a person's Vitamin C intake.

Taste

Unlike similar fruit snacks that I have tried that fell short of my expectations, I was impressed with Peaches in Strawberry-Banana Gel by Del Monte. The strawberry and banana flavoured jelly was an unusual combination that worked well and the peaches also tasted good.

Ingredients

Some of the ingredients that are included in every pack include water, peaches, sugar, natural and artificial flavour, citric acid, sodium citrate as well as other ingredients.

Good review. I'm not really crazy about the fruit in gel personally. I would rather have my jello and fruit separate.

Fresh fruit is better. But these come in handy once in a while. Sophie

My family buys these all the time and enjoys them, but I don't. I guess I just prefer fresh fruit. Great review!
