10. From the Lake, No. 1 by Georgia O'Keefe (1887-1986)

Painted in 1924, the composition of this painting is unique and magnificent; O'Keefe uses lines and color to capture her subjects in the most intimate ways. The picture is calming and soothing and intriguing all at once.

9. San Giorgio Maggiore, Twilight by Claude Monet (1840-1926)

This is oil on canvas painted in 1908 by one of the "Masters," Monet. He is well known for his very recognizable brush strokes and use of light. This is my favorite painting of his because it is captured later in the day, and the colors created by the sunset are amazing. Monet was able to capture each unique color and light effect with paint, and it's magical.

8. Old Man with His Head in His Hands by Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890)

I became very close to this drawing after I tried copying it for my art project. I love pencil-on-paper because it's what I'm most skilled at, and I think van Gogh captures the feelings of the man perfectly, which is one of the talents that is hard to have naturally as an artist. I have a lot of respect for this picture because you can identify with the man, even though his face isn't shown.

7. Yo Mama At Home by Renee Cox (1960-)

This is a gelatin silver print made in 1993. Renee Cox is so skilled at photography, and I love this piece because I think it captures every single part of being a woman and a mother and though the model is nude, it is very tasteful and elegant in composition.

6. Femme aux Bras Croisés by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)

Painted between 1901 and 1902, in Picasso's "Blue Period," this painting captures the emotion of the woman, the composition is perfect for the subject, and the blue tones complete the piece. Any viewer can identify with this piece.
