I am going to blur the lines between politics and tradition. I am co-opting Santa's phrase for your benefit. If you are bad and your failure to be good leads to bad things for me and my nation, you'd better hope Muhammed the Jihadist gets to ya before Bad Santa does.

What am I talking about? The NIE, the "America is evil," the "the world would be better off if the US loses in Iraq" crowd. If you're wrong in your protestations and your glee to get Bush overrides your patriotic common sense, if you have any, and my assumption that you do is a real leap on my part, you will have to deal with Bad Santa.

Now, I know that sounds silly, huh? Ridiculous! Clayton is a crazy SOB! Why, who do I think I am?

Let me tell you who I am. I'm the Bad Santa. I'm the American public that sits quietly by as you toss around all your BS about how bad Bush and my nation are. And I am the Reaper. You think I'm kidding, dontcha? Ya think I'm full of it. We'll see, won't we.

For the benefit of the non-believer, I will lay out a little imagined scenario. This is not a threat. It is merely my knowledge based on what I see and hear. And if you clowns do what I think you're doing, and what happens as a result is the fruits of your labors, well, like I said, you'd better hope Muhammed the Jihadist gets to ya first. At least he will give ya a chance to convert before he offs ya. As I am not a believer in God or Muhammed, I ain't giving ya the chance to do anything.

My nation and the world in which it resides are becoming more tenuous by the day. Western democracy is the stated enemy of radical Islam. And as a member of the ultimate Western democracy, the threat of the radical Islamists is a direct threat to me and my person.

The latest NIE only exacerbates the problem. When we add all the "get Bush" peeps and the 5% or so who fall into the "conspiracy nutzoid crowd," we are indeed faced with a real problem.

That problem is entirely resting on the shoulders of these people - the ones who for the sake of their partisan political desires place their selfish wishes far above what is best for the nation and all her citizens. I am tired of being subjected to the never-ending assault from these people.

Another gem. Very well said. I thought your message was pretty clear and spot on. Seems some might be a wee bit too sensitive. I hear ya Deez. Ive no doubt that millions will stand to defend this country, but there are many sheep who won't; the folks that are perfectly content to allow themselves to be guided by the government on nearly every aspect of their lives. We've still got a lot of work to do here at home.

BTW, I really fail to see how I could cause a Democrat to feel Bad Santa was addressing them. Bad Santa was addressing the creatures that would say almost anything in order to see a particular philosophy become dominant. There creatures believe the US is so flawed we must be brought down and rebuilt in their image. Nope! While Dems are different than Bad Santa, they are Americans. The creatures I refer to believe the world would be better off if the USA lost in Iraq. And those beliefs need to be excoriated from our national psyche. Hey, how 'bout them "re-education" camps the nutzoids are always accusing Bush of having? Let's send 'em there! All Aboard!

Tony, thanks for the kindness Sir. And as to God, you Sir are correct! Your belief is yours and mine is mine, as it was written in 1789. I support any and all of our Constitution. Ain't it beautiful? You a Christian (I assume) and I agnostic, and yet we look each other in the eye with respect and dignity. And my wife's father, a mustang (battlefield commission)1st Lt. with the Texas Division, the 36th Infantry, left the lower half of his right leg in Bitchoffen, Germany in March 1945. The most mild mannered of souls, but a leader of men. I am exceptionally proud that my wife tells me she married a man like her Dad. The Supreme Compliment.

Jim, I noticed how polite you were in not naming names for the "list". If there are any doubts as to what name should be placed first on top of that list-take a look at who left the first comment ;-)

Jim, I thoroughly enjoyed your rant! You skillfully tempered it with humor, Good job. Jim & Anne your Patriotism is commendable! Jim, I noted you said-you don't believe in God, well that's fine by me. I do believe in God & I can tell by your patriotism that's fine by you. I appreciate "Bad Santa's" willingness to take a stand and preserve those rights. That's what Americanism is about! The hallmark of freedom and equality. It takes Americans, like Anne's Father & mine & so many others to put it all on the line to protect those Freedoms.

Dear Ms. Bryant, Bad Santa appreciates your support and understanding. Bad Santa is just trying to make all the little children understand that we are in this together, and that if we forget we are Americans, first & foremost, we will be at the mercy of those who wish us harm. It used to be in War, we put aside our differences to get the job done, but Bad Santa does not see that now. What he sees is the SEEMING feeling that as long as the kids get what they want, let the chips fall where they may. Bad Santa is telling all the wonderful kiddies that if "let the chips fall where they may," suits them now, no crying when later more chips fall, if you get Bad Santa's drift.

Oh, and April, right now we do need the oil that we get from the Middle East. Solar power is great, but you have to remember that there are million of vehicles out there that WILL NOT run on solar panels. We have oil, but drilling in the Artic seems to be a major point of contention. Take a look at your elected officials.. Teddy Kennedy loves wind power, as long as it isn't in his view. Unfortunately, most people are like that. When you fix the people, you'll be able to fix the world.

So Santa, Will you please bring me more Americans that would rather build than destroy? Will you bring me Americans that realize that others have the right to basic religious and political freedom regardless of their views? Santa, do your best and teach these people that we are all basically the same. Tell them that we want to feed and educate our families and that we want to be warm and safe and happy. We'd like for them to be our brothers, ask them, maybe they will listen to you.

Dear Bad Santa, Thank you for caring about my country. I appreciate that you are willing to stand up for all of our rights. You see, there are many that are like you said, only concerned with winning. They seek the big "I told you so" and they seem indifferent to what chaos their behaviors could cause. But Santa, you won't have to go after them, because they too will suffer for their actions. They too will lose, because the "rights" that they use so liberally will be restricted or completely denied too.

Hey Jim I dont like youre imaginaire future very much,However I can agree with the believe in freedom(thats not only a american privelege)If that day comes I wil defend my believes against anyone.I see it here ppl are affraid to speak up because maybe the are kicking against some muslim feet and in the meanwhile the are taking over. And like you do I own a gun(legaly) a miracle in this country with enough rounds to make my words stick.just my 2 penny's

Your first word in your comment, "cute," is disrespectful. And like I said, you need to re-read the article. I ain't defending anyone. I never said one may not dissent, in fact dissent is a great American tradition. Yes I voted for Bush. Your tone implies disrespect for that too. Considering how nice I was to you in trying to address your comment on my other article, it almost seems like you just don't like me. OK. So, if you dislike my opinions you gonna poke me with a stick? Interesting as I was purposefully being respectful in your question on the other article. You seem to disrespect me for being Conservative. If you wanna play, when the going gets ugly remember you started it. And that you are the one being snotty to me for my ideals, not the other way round. How INCLUSIVE of you.

April, I am defending any political party in this article. I am arguing the danger possible if the Middle East goes up in conflagration, and how that could then throw the US into disorder. As to our technologies, if the oil disappeared tomorrow, I assume the solar, hydro & wind are on line and ready to go? If not, no matter how hi tech we are, oil is the fuel that powers us. No oil, no fuel for the farm equipment, no fuel to transport the food to processors and then to distribute the food. Or in your vision, will we put sails on the tractors and harvesters? Fuel cells are a long way off, 20 years at least. So, since you have all the answers, what do we do if this happens tomorrow? After all, the Bush haters think Bush will start another war before he leaves office in 14 months.

Posted on 12/10/2007 at 6:12:15 AM

Cute. To be so defensive of Bush tells me you probably voted for him, huh. Also, part of what makes America so great is that if we realise that our president is approaching things wrongly and in such a way that it causes more issues, we can speak up about how much we citizens disagree. America does'nt 'need' eastern oil either. We are tech. advanced enouph to make our own energy, not to mention we have the sun (what the hell happend to solar power?) Don't believe the lies.

I re-read my article. I want to make clear the following point: My "vision" is that we AMERICANS, regardless of our present politics, will stand together, if that dreadful day ever comes. We will ALL stand against any faction that tries to install a government to their liking - fascist or Communist. If that is not one's fervent desire, then again, I was not addressing you. But, if in one's heart they think ALMOST any event is worth happening in order that they and theirs gain power, then I AM talking to them. Only those that wish the worst for the nation so they can get what they want need be concerned about Bad Santa. But them folks better be thinkin' hard, cause there are tens of millions of Bad Santas. I figured Musall and Deez will be Bad Santas too. You two are loony, but you're not traitors, are you? Have I cleared that up well enough?

Posted on 12/09/2007 at 7:12:23 PM

And lastly, just because you guys are nutty Libs does not make you un-American - I know that, and you know that. Only when peeps intentionally try to sow discord and discontent to achieve a political end is such wrong. I would stand as strong against the reactionary militias as I would against a frickin' Commie bastard. Again, I assume you and Deez will be at my side, or I at yours? I do not believe I have misjudged you, have I? I am against all extremism, fascist and commie equally. How about you guys?
