I like using my Swiffer to clean the floors of my home. Ok, I love it. I find nothing makes my wood and tile floors shine better. I also find my Swiffer Sweeper useful to clean my walk in shower floor and walls.  While I love using my Swiffer Sweeper to shine up my home, I dislike the thought of purchasing Swiffer replacements. I tried flipping the Swiffer Sweeper cloths over and reusing them. I tried re-wetting my Swiffer Max wet cloths, but then the floor did not get as clean. No matter what I tried, I to face the fact that along with the convenience of the Swiffer products came the inconvenience of purchasing refills. No matter how hard I tried to reason, I just could not justify the expense of buying new cloths on a weekly or biweekly basis. To me it just seemed like a way for a broom company to get me to pay for the same old broom over and over again.

I have however; found a solution to this dilemma. I discovered micro fiber cloths. These microfiber cloths are designed to allow you to clean without the use of chemicals. With microfiber cloths, all you have to do is wet the cloth and clean away. To clean more, you must rinse the cloth and keep cleaning. Microfiber cloths are super absorbent and money savings. Unless you like the smell of cleaning solutions, you will never need to purchase another cleaning agent or disposable cloth again.

You can find microfiber cloths of varying quality online. I purchase mine at the dollar store. You know you have a good microfiber cloth if it sticks to your hand as you brush your hand across it.

Now it is time to introduce your Swiffer Sweeper to your Microfiber cloth. The microfiber cloth is the same size as a Swiffer Sweeper replacement cloth. All you need to do is wet your micro fiber cloth, attach it to your Swiffer Sweeper clean your floor, or any other flat surface, and then throw the cloth into the washing machine.

Takeaways
  • Swiffer Sweeper is a great cleaning product.
  • Buying the replacements over and over again does not make sense.
  • If you don't already own a swiffer mop, you can use the microfiber cloths with a rag mop.
Did You Know?
The average swiffer sweeper customer buys a replacement box bi-weekly.
