Ford Motor Company Posts First Retail Sales Volume Increase in 13 Months
Crossover Sports Utility Vehicles Lead the Way in Ending the Streak

November was memorable for Ford Motor Company, as they ended their streak of 12 consecutive months without a sales increase. For the month of November in 2007 Ford Motor Company posted a sales total of 182,951 units. This was an increase of four tenths of a percentage point compared with November 2006. Several models combined to help Ford Motor Company end the string of poor sales performances. They were led by their crossover utility vehicles for the month. This information was provided in a recent press release by Ford Motor Company.The two most popular vehicles in the crossover utility vehicle market for Ford Motor Company are the Ford Edge and the Lincoln MKX. The Ford Edge had a November sales total of 12,594 units. The Lincoln MKX had 3,360 units sold during November. Neither of those vehicles were on the market in November of 2006. As a whole the crossover utility line had 33,271 vehicles sold in November of 2007 for Ford Motor Company. The crossover utility vehicle lineup for Ford Motor Company includes the Ford Escape, Ford Taurus X, and Mercury Mariner.
The Ford Escape and the Mercury Mariner Hybrid both set sales volume records for the month of November. The Ford Escape had 12,383 units sold in the month of November. This was a 22.3 percent increase compared with November of 2006.
The Mercury Milan had a solid sales percentage increase in units sold of 43 percent, while the Ford Fusion had an increase of 39 percent. The Milan had a sales volume of 3,449 vehicles sold during the month of November in 2007. The Ford Fusion had a sales volume in November 2007 of 12,278 units sold.

"Continuing to deliver more quality products that people really want and carefully gauging customer demand in the months ahead will help ensure we stay on track with our plan.", continued Fields.
