You've cut your shopping down to the wire, and the presents are finally wrapped and ready to be delivered. The only problem is that they need to be delivered - a few hundred, or thousands, of miles away. To make it worse, they need to get there in a few days, or overnight. What do you do?

Here are some resources that you can consult to help make the burden of last minute shipping easier. All of the major shipping companies are listed, along with general information, phone numbers and web sites.

If you need something delivered on a Saturday, you're in luck. All of the major delivery companies will deliver on Saturday. Some will delivery on Saturday for free, others charge a fee.

FedEx (Federal Express)
Will FedEx deliver on Saturdays, and Christmas Day? Yes, with restrictions. FedEx does deliver to most major metropolitan cities on Saturday, for a fee. They can deliver to most major metropolitan cities, on Christmas Day, for a fee.

This service is contingent on the exact location that you're shipping to, so you'll need to speak with FedEx directly to see if your package can be delivered on a Saturday, or a holiday.

Again, there are restrictions, so to be certain, call FedEx and ask about the address you're shipping to. Their ability to deliver on both Saturday and Christmas Day is based upon the zip code where the package will be delivered.

The phone number for FedEx is 1-800-332-0807. If you need to have something delivered on Christmas Day, contact FedEx Express Critical at 1-800-714-8779.

US Post Office (United States Post Office)

The U.S. Post Office routinely delivers mail on Saturdays throughout the year. If you need package delivered on a Sunday, they offer Express Mail delivery, which delivers mail to most locations 365 days a year. Like other services, this is also dependent on the address that will be getting the package or letter.

I remember getting a package once on Christmas Day. At the time, I couldn't believe that anyone would force workers to work then.
