Consumer Product Review: Goo Gone Pro-Power Stain Remover
Goo Gone stain remover promises to be a miracle cleaner. According to the label it "eliminates greasy sticky problems." That sounds good to me, living with three men (husband and two sons - don't be tacky), we have plenty of greasy, sticky messes.
Goo Gone Pro-Power allegedes to remove masking tape residue, paint and varnish, gum, grease and tar, glue, stickers, make-up, oil, wet paint, scuff marks, shoe polish, tree sap, asphalt, and candle wax. This means when you paint using masking tape instead of painters tape, you should be
able to remove the evidence. When the kids sticker the side of their dresser, there is hope that the stickers and residue can be safely removed (once they outgrow the sticker stage.) Tree sap, grease, and tar that mysteriously appear on your car, as you drive through every construction site and pothole in the city should come off almost magically with Goo Gone Pro-Power.
All manner of "oops" around the house and garage should be wiped away with Goo Gone Pro-Power stain remover. Having been disappointed by similar products in the past, I approached this product with cynicism. My sister told me it worked to get gum out of her carpet, and fresh paint out of one of her daughter's favorite outfits (which Dad decided she could wear to help paint the barn...?). My sister did say she had to treat it and wash it twice, but all but a tiny, inconspicuous fleck came off. The shirt is completely wearable, and as cute as ever.
My son used it to remove tar and grease off of his truck, around the rims and the tires. It took a little Goo Gone Pro-Power and a lot of elbow grease, but the stains came off. More important to me, the paint finish stayed on.
I tried it on a piece of candy that had been well ground into the carpet. The pink sticky color didn't match my neutral tones in the living room. Goo Gone Pro-Power stain remover took it out.
