Have you decided to have a Roaring '20s New Year's Eve party and aren't sure how to go about it? Look no further; here is a list of possible items you can use for your party to make sure you are the talk of the town this New Year's Eve.Remember first and foremost you have to get the invitations out at least a month before the party with RSVP's so you know exactly how many people are coming. Next you need to find invitations that go with the theme of your party. Most of the time you can find pretty decent invitations at your local retail stores such as Wal-Mart or Kmart, or you can go to a party supply store. Other places to go are online stores. Just type "Roaring '20s invitations" in the search box and a list of very reputable sites will come up. Choose carefully, some are much more expensive than others .
Next it is time to decide what you want your guests to wear. Since you are going with the Roaring '20s theme, the nest way to have guests dress is to have the women either wear flapper dresses or evening dresses with long pearl necklaces, feather boas, and fans to go with costume. The men should dress in pin striped suits, zoot suits, black or white ties over a black shirt, fedoras or gangster hats to go with their suits.
Next how to set up the area in which the party will be held at. This is the fun part. The 20's were a time of glitz and glamour and everything all sparkly and beautiful. Easiest way to go with this theme is to go to a thrift store and find beads, costume jewelry and lots of lace to put all around the room. Have tables set with white lacy tablecloths with glass plates and pretty crystal glasses. If you cannot afford or do not have crystal glasses, fancy plastic ones will do just fine. And last but not least have black fake guns as part of the theme on the tables.
Next is the activities. There is plenty to do at a party, but adding things for all your guest to participate in is always so much more fun. Have guests dance to some jazz music and do some 20's dances such as the foxtrot, and the black bottom. Have a costume contest and give out small prizes. Definitely have some old time gangster movies showing on the television for everyone to enjoy.
