This week, BASEBALL STARS 2, Ghosts 'n Goblins and Pokémon Snap arrive on the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console. Here is a brief rundown on the titles of yesteryear.

BASEBALL STARS 2
Developer: SNK
Publisher: D4 Enterprise
Original System: NEOGEO
Original Release Date: 1994
Genre: Sports
Controller Options: Classic, Gamecube and Wii Remote
Wii Points: 900
ESRB Rating: E

BASEBALL STARS 2 is a solid old school arcade game. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold a candle to Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball and the price of 900 Wii Points is too steep for this type of game.

Ghosts 'n Goblins
Developer: Capcom
Publisher: Capcom
Original System: NES
Original Release Date: 1986
Genre: Adventure
Controller Options: Classic, Gamecube and Wii Remote
Wii Points: 500
ESRB Rating: E

The Ghosts 'n Goblins series composes of some of the most difficult games ever created and it was the original that started it all. If you can get past the frustrating difficulty than Ghosts 'n Goblins has a lot of redeeming qualities such as a haunting soundtrack and intense action.

Pokémon Snap
Developer: HAL Laboratory
Publisher: Nintendo
Original System: NES
Original Release Date: 1999
Genre: Adventure
Controller Options: Classic and Gamecube
Wii Points: 1000
ESRB Rating: E

Pokémon Snap is the Virtual Console first game to come with additional features. An on-rails photo-taking game where you take pictures of Pokémons, Pokémon Snap is strange but very addicting at the same time. The new feature allows you the ability to post pictures from Pokémon Snap on the Wii Message Board and send them to friends over Wi-Fi. A great game with new features, Pokémon Snap is the Virtual Console Game of the Week.
