High School Musical, Paris Hilton, Guitar Hero Create 2007 Buzz

There's a new 'end of the year' or 'best of' list this year, and it's one that, instead of creating buzz, is reporting it.

According to a press release issued by BuzzLogic and published on prnewswire, relying on data from search engine reports is "so 2004." This year, people care more about what generated the most buzz in the blogosphere. The results for 2007 are in.

In Entertainment, "High School Musical" was the big winner.

The "Pirates of the Carribean" Trilogy generated more conversation than did "Shrek 3" and "Spiderman 3" combined. Second to "Pirates of the Carribean" was "Ocean's 13," thanks much to star George Clooney.

Seth Rogen, star of "Knocked Up" got a lot of action - in the blog world, that is, for the aforementioned film as well as his hit "Superbad."

Ah, the rap album war. Kayne West sold more albums, but 50 Cent was hotter in blogs. But who trumped both? Fergie, the solo artist and front star of The Black Eyed Peas.

Gamers, you weren't left out. The video game "Guitar Hero" was the top game blogged about in 2007. The game "Rock Band" came in second, but it was a distant second.

As can be expected, and as always is, celebrity blogging had a big year. It doesn't take a lot to figure out who was the most talked about celebrity this year in blogs, as news outlets seemingly couldn't get enough of her either...America's jailbird, Paris Hilton.

Just tailing Hilton was Brittney Spears, naturally, with her tragically news-filled year. So of course, her ex-husband Kevin Federline got a percentage of her blog share.

Speaking of celebrities, naturally the topic will drift to rehab. Said situation (institution) brought blog fame to our next highest ranking celebs, Lindsay Lohan and Amy Winehouse (who had a hit song titled "Rehab." Hey, sing what you know...)

The next two runners-up were famed for their baby bumps (yes, far less exciting than jail or rehab) and are Christina Aguilera and Nicole Ritchie. Both are due in January.

Anyone interested in Sports? Though the Red Sox took the World Series, the Yankees still own the blog.
