I remember back in 1993 I was just a young 12 year old boy when the WWE, then the WWF, began their flagship program Monday Night Raw. It is now the end of 2007 and Monday Night Raw is still airing on Monday Nights.Tonight the WWE will have a special 3 hour program celebrating the 15th anniversary of Monday Night Raw. In honor of the 15 years of Monday Night Raw I thought I would count down the 15 best moments in Monday Night Raw history.
15. Evolution Evolves
The Evolution stable was horrible. It was obviously a ripoff of the Four Horsemen. Ric Flair was not as good as Flair used to be. Triple H is no Arn Anderson and Randy Orton is no Tully Blanchard. I don't even get the name. The only good thing that came from the Evolution was when they turned on and beat down Randy Orton.
14. Mike Tyson
Back when Mike Tyson was still relevant he made an appearance on Monday Night Raw. When Mike Tyson went toe-to-toe with Stone Cold Steve Austin it was one of the biggest showdowns in wrestling history.
13. Eric Bischoff on Raw
For years the WWE, led by Vince McMahon, battled in the ratings with WCW, led by Eric Bischoff. It was a shock to everybody when Vince McMahon actually hired Eric Bischoff to be on Monday Night Raw.
12. Bret Hart curses
For most of his career Bret Hart was the good guy. Bret Hart worked hard, showed great respect and great sportsmanship. He was the epitome of babyface. But then Stone Cold Steve Austin came along and fans liked the edgy bad guy more than the clean cut good guy. Bret Hart was then turned heel and shocked many fans when he did something completely out of character, he cursed on television.
11. WWE Draft
I've grown tired of the brand split in the WWE but when the WWE Draft first happened and the roster was split into two different "teams" it was a pretty intriguing idea.
10. DX Invades WCW
Degeneration X was extremely popular for their antics in and out of the ring. There was no DX moment greater than when they went to the arena that the WWE's rival, WCW, was having their show and demanded that WCW let Kevin Nash and Scott Hall free from being employed there.
