After a successful run with the Playstation 2, the God of War series goes portable with its debut on Sony PSP, God of War: Chains of Olympus. Can the Sony PSP handle this epic action game?

Story
God of War: Chains of Olympus is a prequel to the main games of the series. The story follows Kratos the Spartan as he tries to redeem for his past sins by serving the gods of Olympus.

Graphics
The God of War games pushed the Playstation 2 to its limits graphically; God of War: Chains of Olympus does the same with the Sony PSP. Although it is a step below its siblings on the Playstation 2, God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PSP is one of the best looking portable games ever created. Super detailed with many enemies and action in the background, the game is a graphical showcase for the PSP.

Sound
As you may have expected, the epic music is also retained in God of War: Chains of Olympus. Despite being a portable game, the music is as grand and immersive as ever. The voice acting is also on par with the other games of the series.

Gameplay
At its core, God of War: Chains of Olympus is an ultra gory action game with few puzzles littered thought the levels.

The God of War series is famous for the intense battles over epic locations and God of War: Chains of Olympus is no different. Using Magic and doing a variety of combos to rampage through your enemies has never felt better in a portable game.

The enemies are high in numbers but low on intelligence, however. They would often stand around like sitting ducks for Kratos to destroy. Adding more to the unnecessary easiness, you can often dispose of one enemy by doing a one-hit grab kill with the O button.

The real challenge, at least in the playable demo, is the boss fights. One of the major complaints about the original God of War is the lack of boss fights; God of War II atoned for it and so will God of War: Chains of Olympus. The boss fights are way more epic and intense than the normal ones. Not to mention that some of the bosses easily tower over Kratos.
