Give the gift of New England-made candy or gourmet chocolate for Valentine's Day. Choose from these local businesses that all make delicious and delectable gourmet chocolate, fountains, filled chocolates, and yes, even Sweetheart candies.

Daily-Made Chocolate

Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium makes chocolate daily in their store, and you can even watch the chocolate being mixed. Ben & Bill's sells truffles, turtles, fudge, barks, clusters, creams, logs, solid chocolates and candy.

Ben & Bill's also makes their own ice cream, which you can experience for yourself if you go to one of their stores. Ben & Bill's has three stores in Massachusetts. Their Western Massachusetts store is located at 141 Main Street in Northampton, Massachusetts. Their phone number is (413) 584-5695.

Ben & Bill's also has stores at 209 Main Street in Falmouth, Massachusetts (508) 548-7878, and at 20A Circuit Avenue Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts (508) 696-0008.

You can also order these treats for Valentine's Day, or any other time of year, on their web site.

Hand-Made Chocolates

The chocolates may not be hand-made by you, but they are hand-made.

Hebert Candies has been pleasing sweethearts, wives, husbands, little girls, and little boys since 1971 with their smooth, hand-made chocolates. The not-so-secret secret behind the taste of Hebert's candies is that they make their chocolates in small batches. Give the taste of real, local chocolate, not that waxy substance so popular in traditional holiday chocolates.

Select from their fancy chocolate boxes, their Geneva chocolates, assorted boxes, chocolate and nut barks, or their new Fully Loaded Chocolates. They also sell unique fudge, that is made in "small batches in copper kettles, using only fresh cream and butter." (Hebert's)
