World Maps are a fun way to decorate your home for very little money all year long. I find great old maps at the flea market all the time. I love budget decorations that allow me to spend any extra money on furniture!

Here are five of my favorite ways to decorate the home with World Maps. I hope you can use some of these fun and budget decorating ideas.

World Maps Paper Craft #1: Placemats

World Maps make wonderful placemats on the dinner table. Try cutting your World Maps out to size. Now, laminate it in some clear thick plastic.

The plastic will make the paper sturdy and protect it form any food spills. You can layer the World Maps, cut it into shapes, and even paint on it! Try using pinking sheers on the edges.

World Maps Paper Craft # 2: Window Décor

If you have panes in your window this is a fun idea. Try cutting out pieces of World Maps to the same size as your window panes. Now use double sided tape to stick them into about ¼ of the window panes.

You can have the white side face outside, so it does not look funny. Just do not cover all the window panes.

Another idea is to cut the World Maps out into shapes and countries and tape them in the window!

World Maps Craft #3: Table Runners

I like to use World Maps to run a cheap table runner straight down the middle of the table. No need to laminate this one. You can toss it right after the meal. This is a great way to add color to a table in seconds! This one is fun for a little boy's birthday.

World Maps Paper Craft #4: Picture Mattes

Cut out some World Maps to the same size as your picture frame mattes. Place photos in the middle and frame as before. This will transform the look of all of your wall frames in seconds! I like this idea because you can easily transform your frames back to their original state whenever you want. Try this one in a study!

World Maps Paper Craft #5: Decorative Columns

Try using whole World Maps cut into tall strips to create vertical banners in your home. This is a great way to cover some wall space. If you have a new home or a home without a ton of architectural interest, then this is a great idea. Try framing out large doors between rooms.
