Biggest World Records: Holy Cow! These Things Are Huge!!! Watch Where Yer Standin' You Might Get Squashed

Alright guys and gals, step right up and prepare yourself to feel small, really, really, small. In fact you may want to stand back a few feet from your screen while I describe these man made mysteries of girth.

First up is my personal favorite, the Worlds Largest Ball of Twine. The Worlds Largest Ball of Twine is a record that has born at least three claims to the crown. One, located in Darwin, Minnesota, weighs in at over 17,400 lbs. This twine ball claims to be the largest because it is the work of one man.

Darwin's ball of string is big, but Cawker City, Kansas hosts 17,980 lbs of twine ball. That's over 9 tons of Sisal Twine (the old school kind). Oh yeah, and its over 40 feet around and has over 1,444 miles of twine. But, the Cawker City residents have taken to assisting the Ball in its growth since Frank Stoeber's death in 1974 (Franks the original owner of the ball).

The third claim to the title is held at Ripley's Believe It Or Not in Branson, Missouri. This massive cat toy is 41.5 feet in circumference but is made of plastic twine not the good old Sisal twine like the others. One ball on the way claims to weigh over 19,000 lbs but it hasn't been officially weighed.

Now let's move on to paint balls. The World's Largest Paint Ball is heavy and trust me you don't want to get hit with it (actually I should hope that you don't have to trust and can figure that one out for yourselves). The massive ball of paint is the work of Mike and Glenda Carmichael who for some reason didn't like the color of their baseball so they applied 20,000 coats of paint to it. Sounds reasonable. The ball weighs around a ton and they keep it in their garage.

This one's just big so I thought that I'd include it. It's not really like physically big but it does boggle the mind, and is also man made, so in my mind it fits with the collection. It's the Most Accurate Value of PI: The number is too large to list here but Japanese mathematicians have calculated the number to 206,158,430,000 decimal places. That's Two Hundred Six Billion One Hundred Fifty Eight Million Four Hundred and Thirty Thousand decimal places. Not even Bill Gates can write a check for that much.
