New Years Eve is one of the biggest party nights of the year. Many people will spend New Years Eve at their house, at a friend's house, or even at the local nightspot, partying with friends and family waiting to ring in the New Year at the stroke of midnight. While its is perfectly normal to want to party out the old year and party in the new year, many people often overlook partying safely to ring in the new year. Here are some tips to help you to bring in the New Year safely, while still maintaining the fun of the night. Its almost an official policy on New Years' Eve that there will be champagne or some other alcoholic beverage flowing freely at any given new year's eve party. While many people will drink responsibly so that they can still drive safely home, there are just as many other people who will not be able to drink responsibly, and as a result will not be able to drive home in the first few hours of the new year. One of the most fun and exciting ways to practice safety in transportation while fully enjoying the night is to hire a limousine for the night to drive you and your friends from party to party. My friends and I did this one year, and we still have fond memories of being slightly intoxicated, just enough to be silly, while riding through town in a long black limousine.
Civic leaders and other businesses in many cities are aware that many people in the city will be partying hearty on New Years Eve. Many cities offer what is known as safety cab. In my city, safety cab runs from the beginning of December through the first week of January. Safety cab is sponsored by local businesses and public health organizations for people who will drink during the Holiday season, but don't always have other means of transportation home. Check with your local Chamber of Commerce or Law enforcement agency for safety cab information in your area.
If you are hosting a New Years Eve party, it is your responsibility to ensure safety for your party guests. If you can't accommodate a large amount of overnight house guests, then it is your responsibility to hire the limo for the night, use safety cab, or arrange cab fare home for your guests.
