Ron Paul Campaigns in Iowa
Congressman and presidential candidate Dr. Ron Paul campaigned in Iowa on Tuesday and made a speech Tuesday night. Paul's campaign also released a new TV advertisement on the issue of healthcare, which will appear in both Iowa and New Hampshire.
According to a press release issued by the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign Committee on Tuesday night (ten o'clock Eastern time), Congressman Paul visited Sioux City and Sioux Center on Tuesday. He went on to make a
United States of America speech in Council Bluffs, at the Mid America Center. The room was full and more than six-hundred people were estimated to have listened to his speech. Ron Paul's campaign spokesman, Jesse Benton, said that the "message of freedom, peace and prosperity" delivered by Paul is well-received by people in Iowa.
Another press release was issued by his campaign earlier in the evening on Tuesday, and indicated that a new Ron Paul advertisement is to appear on television in Iowa, as well as the New England state of New Hampshire. The half-minute long ad, which can also be viewed on YouTube, speaks of the choice between government and "big business" for healthcare; to illustrate the two choices, it makes reference to veterans of the Iraq war being put in "moldy rodent-infested rooms", and shows a prescription drug container sitting in a corporate board room with hundred dollars bills in it. The ad goes on to point out Paul's experience as a doctor and states that he would transfer power from the corporations and government to "patients and the doctors they choose."
The first press release indicated that, on the 2nd day of his campaign stops in Iowa (Wednesday), he will take part in the Des Moines Register Republican Debate. Then, at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, he will make an address at 7:00 PM Central time.
