Low-carbohydrate dieting can be extremely difficult at times, especially when you are eating out at restaurants with your family and friends, and they aren't dieting! It can be a stressful situation, because you do not want to cheat on your diet, but you don't want to have to sit and watch everyone else eat really good food.If you are like me and Mexican food is your favorite type of food you might think that it is very difficult. However, it is very possible to get great tasting low-carb food from places that are famous for tortillas, rice, and beans.

The first thing you are going to get asked for is your beverage order. If you have been on the diet for a bit then you know that this will be water, diet soda, or unsweetened tea. Water of course is the best for you and one way to make it taste much better is to ask for lemon on the side. Once you get the lemon, squeeze as much as you can get out of it and stir it in with the water, after this grab a packet or two of Splenda and stir that in as well. The final product will be a great tasting beverage much like a light lemonade, and what's even better is it should only have about one carb since it should be a very small amount of lemon. The next thing you are going to have to deal with is the dreaded chips and salsa! The chips are the bad part so get rid of those. Ask the wait staff to either not bring the chips to your table or if someone at your table wants them just make sure that person knows to keep them out of your reach. If you end up getting them try asking for some nutritious veggies to dip in the salsa instead of chips, and if you are not a big fan of salsa, guacamole may be a better choice for you, it doesn't have less carbs but it isn't very high and it tastes good.
