On Tuesday, December 11, 2007, President Bush granted 29 pardons that included carjackers, drug dealers, a moonshiner and a violator of election laws. It was rumored that he was going to pardon Cheney pal I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby the former top aide who was convicted in the case of the leaked identity of a CIA operative. The full pardon for Libby would have been gravy; he already had his two ½-year sentence commuted by Bush over the summer. So much for the "rule of law."

There are two American heroes, ladies and gentlemen, that sit in prison for securing our borders in Texas, Bush's hometown, and protecting the sovereignty of our nation from Mexican drug invaders. It is painful to witness this president pardon Thanksgiving turkeys, drug runners, and car thieves. The president refuses to entertain the notion of pardons for former Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean, because as the president puts it his "dear friend" Johnny Sutton is a fair guy. This is where justice gets hijacked, folks. You see, Johnny Sutton a Bush appointee is the West Texas U.S. General Attorney, the top lawman in Texas. Sutton has in the past sent Texas law enforcers to prison for their roles in immigration enforcement. Apparently, the message to the lawmen out there is enforce our immigration laws at your own peril. Discouraging the border agents from enforcing our immigration laws creates in essence de facto amnesty.

well it is obvious you feel about Bush the way I do. I hang my head in shame that I too voted for this insane lunatic. I have lost all faith in our government. You would also have a hard time convincing me that he is sober. How could anyone be sober and make the dastardly mistakes and decisions that he has? Great reporting.

That's pretty much it, Kassidy. It seems like we all end up, Democrats & Republicans, voting for the evil guy. You see, the lesser of two evils is still evil ;-)

I voted for Bush as well, and am sorry I did. Course, what is it I just heard about Presidential elections? Something like, you have no choice but to vote for the best jackass?

Nothing surprises me when it comes to President Bush. He has obliterated the rule of law as it pertains to our Constitution. His behavior regarding the two agents is "Unpardonable."

Yes they were, Justice, and the agent took a good beating by a group of criminal illegal aliens that attacked him while he slept in his bunker. Both agents are currently in solitary confinement(23 hrs a day) for their safety.

I voted for Bush in 2000. I am not ashamed to say he double crossed us all in more ways than one! And his double-cross of Campean and Ramos is inexcusable! Tell me they weren't put into the GP of their prison to further punish them. Thank you for this article; Bush has no concept of rule of law, sovereignty, or decency, for that matter!

Good job reporting this.

This burns me up. What support Bush still has is quickly evaporating. Where is justice for those who actually try to uphold our laws? Glad you wrote this one!!!

If Bush were to pardon Libby, Libby could be forced to testify against Cheney and others in the event charges are brought. No way is Bush going to do that.
