NBC's Journeyman Canceled?

NBC's Journeyman Canceled? According to Broadcasting and Cable, the deadline for NBC to pick up a full season of the show Journeyman has come and gone, and NBC has not chosen to order more episodes.

This may come as a shock to many of the faithful Journeyman viewers, but the show has been doing poorly since its introduction to the Monday night television lineup and has suffered without its Heroes lead-in, losing 40% of its

viewers since Heroes went on hiatus.

While Journeyman's ratings troubles since Heroes went off the air could be attributed to the yearly December slowdown in television viewing or even the writer's strike, NBC does not seem likely to give Journeyman another shot.

The show has not been officially cancelled and it is still possible the show could get picked up for a second season, especially if the writer's strike last through next spring, when new TV pilots are written. If no new TV pilots can be submitted, than shows like Journeyman can get second lives to fill the air waves.

While the show may be nearing its end, Journeyman fans should not be too disappointed, at least they will get to see the final 2 episodes of the show, a fate which many other cancelled shows do not see.

The show will explain Dan Vasser's time travel abilities and why he has been going back in time to save certain people. It is said that these people are part of a larger plan and at least the viewers will be able to see that plan and get some satisfaction and closure from the show.

Journeyman's Monday night time slot will be taken over by Life.

Fans of this show have started SaveJourneyman.net, a site that is dedicated o trying to save Journeyman. They are urging fans of this show to send Rice-a-Roni, the San Fransisco Treat, to NBC in order to save their show. A campaign like this, only sending nuts, saved the CBS show Jericho, but did not save the WB show Veronica Mars.

My life is shattered now, NBC cancels all the good shows. Why bring something good on? And then take it away from people that get hooked on it. I love Journeyman and all the characters. Now how am I suppose to know what's happening to Dan, Kate, and Olivia? NBC sucks! For now on I'm only going to watch ABC because they keep great shows like LOST and they don't keep stupid shows with no storyline, like My Name is Earl and The Office.

I long for the day when we viewers no longer suffer from the whims of network executives! Won't it be great when we're able to subscribe to individual shows instead of channels? I can't wait until no one stands between me and the series I want to follow!

Now, the Bionic Woman deserved to be cancelled. Horribly written, bad acting. But Journeyman is superior - from the cast to the plots to the dialogue. This is sad news indeed.

0h that really erks me! ***closing tailgate of truck full of 2500 boxes of Rice A Roni*** Every week I sit and think, "Wow, they always pull some larger story out right when you think its going to become repetitive". It would really suk if they get rid of this.

Richly detailed, intriguing, and wow-inducing shows are few and far between these days, but Journeyman is all that and more. It will be a damn shame if NBC cancels, but the important thing is that they have not put out the official word of cancellation yet (thank you for pointing that out; too many have assumed too much so far). Actually, the live Nielsens have shown that Journeyman is ranked #15 of over 5000 shows; I have no idea where NBC is getting their information. Just the same, I'm not giving up yet, and neither are all the fans over at SaveJourneyman.net. Perhaps with all the boxes of Rice-A-Roni flowing in NBC may begin to see the light.

Journeyman has become the one must see show in our house this season. Everyone I know watches it and can't wait to talk about it on Tuesday mornings. It seems that all the intelligent shows are quickly replaced with another CSI or reality/game show. Just who are these Nielsen families and why can't they enjoy good TV. Maybe the networks need to realize that those of us that have money to spend with the advertisers are too busy to do Nielsen ratings. When shows like Journeyman get canceled you have to believe that there is a flaw in the system somewhere.
