Give a perpetual gift this year! Every time the recipient gets another piece of the gift throughout the year they will know you are thinking about them and they will experience the joy of knowing someone cares for them all over again! Perpetual gifts are great for Christmas, but also be a great birthday or anniversary gift.

Here are some gifts I've given in the past:

Dunkin Donuts Coffee - You can have 2 pounds of the blend of your choice delivered every month for 2 month up to 12 months. Pricing starts at $38.00. Check out their website for more details.

Organic Fruit - Delivery options for this gift start at 2 months worth all the way to 12 months worth of deliveries. Pricing ranges from $50 to $300.

Hot Sauce - Two bottles of gourmet hot sauce are sent each month. Delivery options are 3, 6 or 12 months and pricing ranges from $50 to $200.

Gift of Time - This is one of my personal favorites. Write IOU's on pieces of paper of cardboard and put them in a box or some kind of container. Write things on the IOU such as, this coupon can be redeemed for one hug, or one dance lesson, or one knitting lesson, or one kiss ... whatever you can think of that the other person will enjoy and that you can supply for them. Put as many IOU's in a box as you want and wrap up the box. The person can use their gift all year round!

Wine - If you know someone who enjoys wine this can be an exciting gift that they will look forward to receiving. They will receive hand crafted and hard-to-find wines on whatever schedule you pick out - every 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. Prices range from $90 to $400.

Gourmet Cake - You can give someone a different flavor of fresh gourmet cake every month without ever having to light the oven or mess up the kitchen ... and who doesn't like cake! Choose from 3, 6, and 12 month plans with pricing from $90 to $350.

Complete Dinner for Four - This is something to get excited about! It's a great time saving gift for your over-worked relative who doesn't have time to cook but still wants to provide great meals for their family. There are delivery options for up to 12 months of meals and pricing goes from $25 to $300 depending on which plan you choose.

How about giving a pregnant cat?

I love the IOU idea. I did that with Easter eggs one year, instead of candy in some of the eggs I put coupons for the kids like Pudding cup on demand, or soda on demand, these are things my kids can only have on occasion so they were thrilled to have the coupon that meant I had to give it to them when they asked for it, it was the rule no matter when if they redeemed the coupon I had to give it to them. They really loved that.
