As listing and operating costs on the popular auction site eBay rise, new low cost websites are being created and introduced to online merchants. Among the alternate websites created, only a handful allow you to list for free. The ease of listing on free auction sites raises the issue of accountability and worries of abuse when the rating system that is in place on eBay for both sellers and buyers is non existent. Buyinlow.com is a new alternative to eBay, which offers free auction and lotto listings to eBay merchants as well as new sellers.

In order to offer the same services Buyinlow.com charges its advertisers instead of its visitors. The new online marketplace gives sellers the chance to list and sell goods, without asking for a listing or closing fee. For seasoned eBayers who are worried about having to start fresh in terms of their rating system and reputation Buyinlow.com lets you import all your rating information from eBay.

How It Works
On Buy In Low you have the option to sell goods by auction or lotto. Both processes are very quick and streamlined, allowing you to post one free picture for each listing much like eBay did. In the traditional auction setting the seller starts the auction at an initial price and then selects a reserve price, which is the minimum amount the seller will accept for the item. Sellers have several options for categorizing their listings in order to guarantee that their merchandise will appear in a search.

The lotto process is a little more unique to Buy In Low. In the lotto, the seller determines the amount they want to sell their merchandise for and then makes so many tickets at a set price available for the listing. The only was buyers can purchase tickets for a lotto is by creating an account and then using money in their Buy In Low account. Money is added to the website accounts via paypal.

In addition to the regular auction format you are also able to list your items with a buy it now option similar to the service that is offered on eBay.
