Being pregnant can be the most enjoyable event of a person's life. Sometimes things happen and a pregnancy can take a turn down a road known as a high risk pregnancy. Many people tend to think of it as a way that pregnant women can relax during her pregnancy, but for those with this, it is not a time to relax, it is more of a time for constant worry.

During a high risk pregnancy, you may feel blue, worry endlessly, become angry, or have mixed emotions. These feelings are natural for any pregnant women and can be even more so for women who are having a high risk pregnancy.

So how do you cope with it? The best way that you can. If you are on bed rest during this time, try to think about things that are more relaxing or you could, read a book, watch the television, or catch up on learning if you have a computer that can be rolled over to your bed side.

High risk pregnancy are not fun and they can leave you feeling more drained than ever before with not being able to get up and do the things that you enjoy. If this sounds like you, talk to your doctor and find out what you can and can not do so that you will know your limits. The limits are set differently from pregnancy to pregnancy and this is why it is important to know what you are able to do.

Talking to someone about your problems is another way that you can cope with it. If you don't feel that you are able to talk to family or friends, call up a councilor or therapist and ask if they wouldn't mind making house calls or if they could do sessions over the phone. Most therapists are willing to work with you if they know that you are going through a difficult time.

During all the doctors appointments and having lab work done, look at it as an opportunity to get out of the house for a little while. While you are out, ask your driver or husband to stop and picking you up a current issue of your favorite magazine or a book that you would like to read.

If your high risk pregnancy is taking away from some of your income, take up a small hobby that will allow you to do it by hand and ask someone to help you sell them so that you can have the extra money. There are also some opportunities on the Internet that will allow you to work from home.
