When buying Super Bowl Tickets you have to be careful not to be stuck with fake tickets. Last year around 1,000 people showed up to the Super Bowl with fake tickets. The only way to verify that it is real is by looking for the hologram and thermographic ink. The hologram is of the Super Bowl Logo and the Vince Lombardi Trophy; it will change from one to the other when you look at it for different angels, and should be on the back of the ticket. This is also where the thermographic ink should be. The ink is heat-sensitive and it disappears when body heat is applied.

Always make sure your ticket broker is licensed by the state and is a member of the National Association of Ticket Brokers, this will give you some kind guarantee if a ticket turns out not to be valid. A reputable seller/reseller will guarantee tickets they sell. If a price sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Defiantly be wary of ones for sale on craigslist. Keep that in mind when buying.

Some people do not know that you can buy Super Bowl Tickets from the NFL. Every year they distributes about 500 pairs of tickets to football fans through an annual drawing, many refer to it as a 'lottery'. There is no charge to enter, those chosen will be able to buy a pair of tickets at face value, usually around $500.00 each. To enter you must follow the NFL's guidelines to the letter. Put your Name/ address and phone number on a 3x5 card. You send your request to be entered in to the drawing between February 1st and June 1st of the year preceding the game (so it is so late to enter for this year), and you must send the entry via registered or certified mail to this address: NFL, Super Bowl Game 280 Park Avenue New York, NY 10017. Only one entry per household, any duplicates are thrown out. You are notified when the drawing will take place (some time in October). Make sure in your entry you request two tickets, or you may only get one. Write very clearly or type out your request to make sure they can read it. Even though you cannot enter more than once, there is no rule about entering other people.
