Could there finally be some evidence that the Loch Ness Monster is real, after all? Well, thousands and thousands of miles away from the famed hiding place of Nessie, fossilized remains of animals eerily similar to the general agreement on what the Loch Ness Monster looks like have been found. New species have been found and named by Australian scientists. Umoonasaurus and Opallionectes are the two new species, placed into the Plesiosaur group. The fossils present the image of a creature with a long neck similar to Nessie’s, that swam in the shallow waters that once existed where the Australian outback exists now. It is estimated that they swished their way through Australian waters some 115 million years ago. For Biblical literalists, that would be roughly 3,400 years ago.
