These often result in the immediate suspension of your driver's license or revocation of your license.

Attending the Kentucky State Traffic School program can assist you in lowering the points on your record because of a speeding ticket. You can only do this once a year and you must be referred by the court. If you are eligible you will receive instructions and it is a court requirement that you complete the course. Kentucky drivers who receive out of state speeding tickets may also be able to take advantage of the school as well.
If you decide to contest your Kentucky speeding citation it is often good to know that Kentucky has passed some interesting laws regarding radar use. The State of Kentucky vs. Honeycutt ruled that an officer does not have to be an expert in radar operation, only competent in the use of the radar. This is very important to know if you're considering disputing the accuracy and use of the radar gun used by police officers. The prosecution is also going to attempt to make their case that you were speeding because the police officer was using a radar or laser gun to verify your speed. They can also follow you with their vehicle to verify your speed. If a radar gun or laser gun is being used, it is wise to do some research on the gun and the errors that may occur while it is being used.
