All of us are members of Associated Content due to a love of writing. Let's be honest, though. We all also enjoy making some money off of our work! One of the biggest roadblocks to making money on AC can be the inability to come up with article ideas. How many times have you sat in front of a blank computer screen waiting for a good idea to pop into your head? We've all been there.

As an early New Year's resolution of sorts, I have decided to begin a new series of my own here on AC. Once a month, I will offer up some article ideas that you can write about during the upcoming month. Without further ado, here are some article ideas for you this coming January.

January Article Ideas #1:
The BCS

Anybody who has been reading my articles throughout the time I've been on AC knows that my favorite subject to write about is without question sports. One of the biggest stories in sports in the early part of January is the BCS. Who will be college football's national champion? Did the BCS actually work this year? How badly does college football need a playoff? The BCS allows for several article topics in January.

January Article Ideas #2:
The NFL Playoffs

Like college football, the NFL gives writers a myriad of topics in January. You could choose to make predictions for upcoming NFL playoff games. You could also simply decide to analyze playoff games after they have taken place. As usual during this time of the year, you can never go wrong with writing about the NFL.

January Article Ideas #3:
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King's life is celebrated with a national holiday that occurs every January. You could write an article about Dr. King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech or about Dr. King's impact on the world today. Another good article idea would be a piece about celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in your town or city.

January Article Ideas #4:
The Iowa Caucus

Great ideas! My problem is too many ideas that won't stop coming. The ideas distract me from writing sometimes. LOL -- My other problem is time. :-)

Great pointers. I have a list of article ideas that i keep written down. What I submit and when on how much time I have each day and if it relates to a current event or can be written any time. For each one I cross off, I try to add another. Sometimes it doesn't work, but you've gotten yourself 12 articles for the year right there, plus everything you suggest, and possible spin offs. So, if I run out of inspiration after looking at my own posted advice, I'll come to your monthly articles. :) Thanks.

I guess I'm the opposite of most people in that I have a ton of ideas for columns and no time to write them.

Great ideas! I don't think I really want to write about the weather though, it may depress me too much!

I'm so glad you're going to make this a regular thing, Zac. I sometimes get stuck for article ideas! I like the idea of the weather. But there's not much to say right now about the weather here in northern California other than warm and sunny! Sophie

I could write some good stuff on bowl games and on the NFL playoffs, but they'd get about 60-100 pvs and I'd get flustered and have to go write more celebrity smut to bring up my PV avg. I'm such an article whore.
