According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the LAPD has finally arrested three men who were responsible for stealing up to $1 million worth of metal wires and fixtures through the San Fernando Valley. The crime spree lasted a total of six months and finally came to an end recently on November 21st.

On that date, Los Angeles police officers arrested three men. First officers arrested 43-year-old Guy McNally and 36-year-old Omar Moreno. Then, six days later, 45-year-old Ricky Walter, the final suspect, was taken into custody by police.

All three men face serious charges, including grand theft. If convicted, they could spend years behind bars in a southern California jail.

The investigation carried out by detectives revealed that the three men stole copper wire and other metal works from schools, construction sites, parks, golf courses, apartment buildings, and more. They even stole water regulators, metal fencing, and full sprinkler and watering systems.

The main unit on this grand theft case was the Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill Predator Apprehension Detail. The unit worked hard over the last six months to piece together the 100 crimes that evolved the theft of copper and metal.

Luckily, an anonymous person helped police solve the case. They reported that they saw a man driving a pick-up truck posing as a normal construction worker. The person gave police a description of the man and his truck, including the license plate number. Just from this simple information, police were able to take the three suspects into custody.

Additionally, two other suspects were taken into custody by Los Angeles police officers after an undercover detective sold stolen metal and wire to them. Their names are being withheld since the investigation is still going on.

Although it seems strange that the thieves would steal such random items like copper and metal wire and other items, but police believe that they were selling the stolen goods for large profits. Copper and other metals are worth a lot in large amounts, especially for industrial use.
