Clean & Clear® Morning Burst® Shine Control Facial Scrub is a product I was glad that I received as a free sample, and not something I paid for. The product was not what I was searching for in a facial cleanser.

Firstly, I must give the product kudos for a few things. The packaging is pleasant on the eyes, and looks like something that I would want hanging around my bathroom. Bright green coloring on the tube with a clear, see through portion in the middle so that you can see the actual product would draw me to it if I was checking it out in the beauty aisle. Little blue and yellow beads float in a gel that looks to be almost "fizzy", that appearance being made by small white cleansing agents that are thrown into the mix. And, I love the smell. It's a nice, refreshing, clean smell, and definitely invigorates the senses.

Clean & Clear® Morning Burst® Shine Control Facial Scrub does control shine, I've only used it twice and I will explain why in a moment. The two instances when I used it, I didn't notice a shine in the mirror that some products leave behind. I think it might be the fact that it is oil-free. And oil-free might be the reason I don't care for it.

I was going to dismiss this product after my first use, but figured that maybe I should give it another shot. I applied it according to package directions, and after getting out of the shower the first time, I noticed that my face was tightening up from the product, and felt dry. That is one of the worst feelings a product can leave behind, in my opinion. I constantly feel like my face is trying to pull in one direction while I'm trying to go in another. Any product leaving that behind is sure to go in the garbage on my end. But, my softening heart loved the smell, and the way it felt when it was scrubbing away and exfoliating, so I tried again. The second time, I took very special care to make sure that no residue was left behind on my face, and stepped out. As soon as the air hit my face, it tightened up again. And dried.

You are very open minded, willing to blame your face rather than the product, but I suspect your first instinct- that the product is deficient- is the correct one.
