Kona Café opens onto the Great Ceremonial Hall, which helps provide its wonderful atmosphere. Although the restaurant's lunch and dinner menus exhibit some Asian influences, you will recognize most dishes as typically American. Of course, at Kona Café, you will also find authentic Kona coffee, which is entirely worth the visit in and of itself.
Breakfast at Kona Café is served from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., which great for late risers like myself. I recommend starting with fresh fruit, then onto the main course. You can choose from french toast, blueberry or plain pancakes, ham and cheese omelets, steak and eggs, and their speciality - Tonga Toast, which is banana-stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar with your choice of ham, bacon or sausage. Breakfast entrees range between $8 and $14.
Lunch is also a decent bargain. Kona Café serves up burgers, sandwiches, and salads that run between $10 and $14. With lunch, you can enjoy one of their speciality drinks from the nearby lounge, including the Blue Glow-tini, the Classic Mai Tai, and the Island Sunset. Lunch is served at Kona Café from noon to three p.m.
Dinner at Kona Café is delicious but a bit more pricey. You can choose from the filet mignon, the beef teriyaki, the slow-roasted prime rib, the mahi mahi, chicken, turkey, shrimp or scallops. Dinner entrees range between $15 and $26. Of course, you can also enjoy their speciality drinks with your meal. Dinner at Kona Café is served between five and ten p.m.
