Ulcerative Colitis is when you have ulcers that have formed in the inner lining of the colon or rectum. Ulcerative Colitis is something that only happens in the large intestines. You will experience stomach pain, nausea, and fever, and constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, diarrhea and bleeding.

Chris says, "It is a hard disease to learn to live with but it can be done. It just take's time and understanding from your loved ones. I have good days and I have bad days. I take my medicine, eat right and try not to get stressed out. I can't drink alcohol because it makes me sick so while all my buddies are out partying and drinking I am always the designated driver.

I hate it sometimes because I would love to be able to hang out with and party sometimes but I can't because of my disease. It is just more thing I can't do because of having Ulcerative Colitis but its okay I always get my friends home safe and I still have a good time with them even when they are all drinking and partying.

My professors all know about my disease because sometimes I have to miss a class or two because of being sick. They have all been really understanding with me and my disease. They know that I can't help it and they usually let me make up any work that I have missed. It is nice that they understand.

I still get involved with social activates and sports. I just try to do everything my doctor tells me to do that way I will stay healthy. My girlfriend knows that I have Ulcerative Colitis and she even follows my same diet because I follow a very strict and healthy diet.

That helps make it easier for me to eat right although there are times when I miss certain things that I can't eat anymore but I would rather be healthy than sick. All my friends seem to be understanding about me having Ulcerative Colitis but sometimes they mess with me about it.
