Depends on what your definition of "spoiled" is. I've seen plenty of spoiled backpackers in my time. The sort that go for a year abroad on mommy and daddy's dime after college. The sort that go on backpacker tours and do all of the bungy jumping and scuba diving and sky diving and surf school, and swimming with dolphins, and rail passes, and travel on backpacker busses and sleep in hostels the entire time without ever meeting any "real" locals, and drinking until they puke and making a fool of the rest of us Americans. POINT - TOURIST IS TO BACKPACKER WHAT BACKPACKER IS TO TRAVELER.

FYI-spoiled backpacker is an oxymoron. The spoiled kids with daddy's plastic are "above" youth hostels. We TRUE BACKPACKERS work overtime for months before blowing it all on our favorite, cheap places to sleep.
